To create and maintain jobs within Maricopa County and assist the residents of the County to achieve a better standard of living and way of life.
General
Since 1973, the Maricopa County Industrial Development Authority has served Arizona with distinction by spurring economic development, increasing the availability of affordable housing, aiding in job growth, and improving the State’s economy through access to low-cost financing and community investments.
For the past 50 years, we have issued more than $12 billion in bonds, invested millions of dollars in the community, given access to affordable housing and helped create thousands of jobs. We are looking forward to working with the community to provide more of the same over the next 50 years.
The IDA holds public hearings for bond transactions as required by Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code. These hearings are known as TEFRA Hearings since they were instituted by the federal Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982 (“TEFRA”).
The purpose of the TEFRA hearing is to receive comments from interested parties on matters regarding the issuance of bonds and the location and nature of the project for which the bond funds will be used.
